is it true that you can machine wash gaynor minden pointe shoes?

one of the dancers in my class said that she puts her point shoes in the washing machine to get them clean, I've seen them and they look to be ok, not mis shape or anything but.

I can not recommend to do it. I know from experience not to wet the box with your point shoes too much or you destroy it.
